Initial ideas 

For this Project we were assigned to make a 4D animation involving our band name and a song of our choice

I wanted to go for a highly energetic music video, so I chose from 3 songs, my initial pick Summerlove (feat.anabelle) (scoricco edit) and my other two picks, gwen stafani – what you waiting for and Madonna – into the groove. In the end I chose Summerlove. With initial sketches I aim for the video to be constantly cutting from one animation the next. It will feature Melon Balls dancing in front of a colourful background to give the idea that they have filmed and edited the video themselves.

Animation experiments

Using the software ClipStudio Paint, I was left with limited features on the version I was using. the main limitation was that I was only allowed to do a few seconds of animation, which meant that I would have to animate many small clips and then edit them together in a editing software.

Thoughts

I found to dislike stop motion animation as it felt very tedious to cut out every individual frame. Another issue is that not all cut out frames look identical such as i may have edited out a certain part that i hadn't on a different frame which can ruin the flow of the animation. As well as if one frame looks of you may have to retake the entire shoot so it can flow smoothly. After this i moved back to hand drawn, digital animation.

EDiting

To edit and put the video together i used a free editing software called CapCut, this allowed me to easily put together all of my work in time with song. As well as edit transitions between clips, colour scheme and allowed me to mirror some of them.
