LOGO project

initial ideas

My initial ideas were ambitious as I wanted to carve into a watermelon and create an entire city. So designed many layouts for the structure. As well as other ideas including melon balls being stacked don top of each other and melon person holding spoons.

clay experiments

I experimented with clay to help me understand what I would I need to structure my melon person when they’re standing on top of the melon. I found that using copper wire gave me the flexibility to more arms, legs and the body for certain poses. As well as using and extra piece of clay and putting it behind the person, connecting the two with a copper wire helped them to stand up on their own.

watermelon outcome

initial edit

I decided to re think my idea and carve out a watermelon, and carve the name of the band instead. This included a torch shining outside the melon making the name more visible. There is also a melon person sitting inside the melon, with a melon ball and a melon spoon. Implying that this is their home and they made it. Which was a similar concept I was originally going for.
